Take inspiration from Normani’s taste in clothing and style.

There’s no denying that the ex-Fifth Harmony singer hasn’t been hesitant to take risks in the years after she left the group. Moreover, on September 14 at a panel discussion for the TRESemmé Power Your Style Project, the singer discussed the significance of fashion in her life.

She admitted, “I was always pretty quiet and reserved” (and she still considers herself to be this way). “But when it comes to clothes, hair, and cosmetics, it’s me who can express myself the most.”

Later, she elaborated, “Fashion has helped me feel better about myself on days when I am not at my most confident. When I fall, I pull myself back up and try to become the person I really want to be. The number of miserable days it has prevented is staggering.”

According to the 26-year-old singer, “the greatest way for me to really dig into what I am at the heart” is to experiment with her sound.

Live Bands Taking the Stage

It gives me the freedom to be anyone I want to be at any given time,” she said. “When I step onto a stage, I always get the same nervous, anxious feeling. For a moment, I lose consciousness and feel completely safe from harm. Nothing going on in my life, problems or otherwise, matters.”

The “Wild Side” singer has remarked that she is always changing, and she has urged her fans to do the same.

She said, “Don’t conform to conventional standards of beauty.” In closing, I’d want to say, “Remember that there is only one version of you, and you’re perfectly formed.”

These days, Normani follows no one but her own rules, but that wasn’t always the case. She revealed in September of last year that she felt like an underdog in Fifth Harmony.

“While we did have a few vocal performances, I never got a chance to shine. It made me feel like I didn’t matter, “”I was telling Allure,” she reportedly said. “That perception was imposed on me. This is your domain, if you will.”
But now that her first solo record is almost ready for release, she feels liberated.

“I feel like a woman now,” she added. “Now you all are finally going to be able to watch me tap into that awareness—that I know I’m the s—t.”
