A popular line of heat-and-serve meals has issued a recall of their frozen beef items owing to mislabeling and undeclared allergies.
A Texas company recalled 22,061 pounds of frozen beef products because they include milk that was not reported on labels, according to a news release from the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Some products from Valley International Cold Storage Acquisition, LLC have been recalled because they contain a chicken sausage and pepper product that contains milk, despite being branded as Korean-style beef.
The ingredients were utilised on July 22 to construct Healthy Choice Power Bowls with Korean-style beef, which were sold in 9.25-ounce cartons. The recalled items were sold in bowls with the “best if used by” date of April 18, 2023 and the lot code 5246220320.
The establishment number 34622 can be found on the end flap of the carton containing the recalled products that were packaged in bowls. Retailers all around the country received the meals that contained the recalled item.
Consumer concerns that the Korean-style beef Healthy Choice meals contained a chicken-based product led to the discovery of the problem, as reported in a release from the USDA inspection service.
Even though there have been no reported illnesses linked to the recalled food, some people may still have affected meals in their freezers.
“Anyone who has purchased one of these items is strongly cautioned from using it. These items should be recycled or returned to the store where they were bought “in accordance with the USDA announcement.
